Professor Florence Orabueze Receives Dual Awards

Enugu: it was a galaxy of awards for a University Don Prof Florence Onyebuchi Orabueze, recently, when she was honoured by her Alma Mater, the University of Nigeria.

Prof Orabueze who is a senior lecturer in the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of
Nigeria, Nsukka, received an Excellent Service Award from the university’s vice-chancellor, Prof Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba.


The award was one of events that marked the University of Nigeria Founders’ Day celebration, held recently at the university’s main campus at Nsukka.


Presenting the award to Prof Florence Orabueze, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the award was in recognition of her meritorious services, both as an academic staff of the university, and as Director of the University of Nigeria Press Ltd, as well as a Director of the University of Nigeria bookshop.


Prof Ozumba also remarked that Prof Orabueze is not only dogged and diligent she is also passionate and enthusiastic in the discharge of her duties, which keeps her ever bubbling and smiling in spite of the herculean tasks she undertakes every day.


Worthy of note is that Prof Florence Onyebuchi Orabueze has brought great transformation in the university press, especially in the areas of Quality, Service Delivery, Human Resource Development, Neat and Friendly Workplace.


As if that was not enough, her secondary school Alma Mater, Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Nnewi in Anambra State also honoured her with a Great Achiever’s Award, penultimate week.
